The Single Resolution
Mechanism has suffered a fresh blow. According to Europolitics, the Council’s
legal service, in an opinion dated 7 October, casts serious doubt on the
legality of certain powers granted to the future Resolution Board – a key body
within the mechanism – particularly concerning the planning and implementation
of restructuring plans
